The Constitution in Crisis: A Special Report by the House Judiciary Committee Minority Staff
For those of you who still think it is possible to prevent the break-up of the United States, I highly recommend that you read the full report of the Minority in Congress. You will find a link to it in the story I just bloged, Bush's Enemies List - Repeating Nixon's Crimes. Personally, I intend to focus most of my energy on "being local," for locals always survive empires. But for a well-reasoned statement of the deep, deep crisis of government the USA is facing, this report is the place to start. Just take a look at the Table of Contents, and you will see the fine detail of this report. If you are still hoping that a miracle will take place and "Mythical America will rise again, I'm afraid you are in for a big disappointment. Of course, the collapse of the USA will only have a negative impact on 4% or less of the world's population. On the whole, it might be just what the doctor ordered :-). So relax, go with the flow, and enjoy the show.
